Jai Miller set to enroll

Alabama has several interesting cases at quarterback heading into next season, but a high school standout from a decade ago enrolling as a freshman at age 27 is the most unlikely.

Alabama football will have several quarterbacks moving in on campus this week as early enrollees, but the oldest one has the most intriguing story.

27-year-old Jai Miller, formerly of Selma (Ala.) High School class of 2003 quarterback, will enroll at Alabama and begin classes on Wednesday, BamaMag.com has confirmed.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder will walk-on to the football team along with three-star class of 2013 signal caller Luke Del Rio. They join current scholarship signees Cooper Bateman and Parker McLeod as quarterbacks beginning their 'Bama careers this month.

Miller was drafted by the Florida Marlins in 2003, and he stuck with baseball despite signing with Stanford as a three-star quarterback that same year. Miller went on to play in the minor leagues for some time before entertaining the idea of coming home to play college football, where he will have four years of eligibility beginning in 2013.
