Tuesday evening, Alabama head coach Nick Saban provided status updates on all injured players, including Barrett Jones, Kenny Bell and Jarrick Williams, who made his re-debut at practice.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban addressed all the current injuries the team is dealing with Tuesday evening.

Center Barrett Jones, who injured his foot in the first quarter of the SEC Championship game but played the entire 60 minutes, will not practice the next five days. He currently has a cast on his left foot.

“We’ll reevaluate what we do wit him,” Saban said. “Everything we’re doing with him right now is kind of precautionary. He’s able to do some conditioning drills and things like that. It’s day-to-day. We just decided that we’re not going to do anything with him until after Christmas, which will give him a little bit more time to sort of recover.”

Before any reporter could ask Jones about his injury, he said, “My foot is sprained. I’ll be playing in the game. I’ll be fine. I’ll have this cast on I don’t know how much longer, but not much longer. I’ll be all right.”

During the media-viewing period at practice, Jones rode the stationary bike.

“It’s important to stay in shape and get some cardio,” he said.

Saban said wide receiver Kenny Bell, who broke his leg against Auburn and had surgery a few days later, has been cleared to start participating a little bit. Bell also wore a black non-contact jersey at practice and rode the stationary bike while reporters were present.

Safety Jarrick Williams, who had surgery in August to repair a torn ACL, has been cleared to participate some in practice, too. He made his re-debut Tuesday in a black non-contact jersey and a heavy-duty knee brace.

Saban said it’s too early to determine if Bell and Williams will play against Notre Dame on Jan. 7.

Saban did not mention nose guard Jesse Williams (knee) who also wore a black jersey and rode the bike during practice.
