Mal Moore, University of Alabama Director of Athletics, will be honored tonight at the 55th Annual National Football Foundation Awards Dinner to be held at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. He is the 2012 recipient of the John L. Toner Award.
The prestigious award is given annually for “having demonstrated superior administrative abilities and shown outstanding dedication to college athletics, and particularly college football.”
‘BAMA Magazine/‘BamaMag.com had a chance to visit with Mal Moore after the December 4th Tuesday morning press conference in the Empire Room of the Waldorf-Astoria. He touched on the significance of the honor, the first ever meeting with

in the New Year’s Eve 1973 Sugar Bowl, his mentor Coach Paul W. Bryant and the upcoming BCS National Championship Game against the Fighting Irish.
While Moore was an assistant coach at the Catholic institution located in South Bend, he learned of a unique appreciation for the Crimson Tide. The Dozier,
