One Title Down, One To Go For Tide

The Southeastern Conference was begun and, fittingly, Alabama won the first SEC Championship. Saturday night in Atlanta, the Crimson Tide won its 23rd. A part of that remarkable record is that Bama is the only team to have won league titles in each of the parts of nine decades of the conference.

Alabama won its fourth SEC Championship Game with its 32-28 win over Georgia in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta Saturday night. It was Bama's first appearance in the game against an SEC East team other than Florida.
