Ryan Harrow
could be closer to returning to active duty with the Wildcats, UK coach
John Calipari
said Monday.
Speaking during his weekly radio call-in show, Calipari told host Tom Leach that the sophomore point guard is still recovering from an ailment, but was back at practice today.
"Ryan was with us today," Calipari said. "While we practiced, he was on the treadmill. We're hoping he practices tomorrow with us, but to be honest with you, unless I'm totally convinced, I'm not going to do what we did against Maryland.
"He's lost 7 pounds. He's got to gain some weight back. He's got to get in the fray, and this train moved on from him. Now all the sudden we're a better team, we're a stronger team, we're a more conditioned team... so you come back, that makes it a tough deal."
Harrow played only 10 minutes in the season-opening win over the Terrapins, going 0-for-4 from the field with two assists and one turnover. Calipari said he was dealing with "flu-like symptoms" and should not have played.
The transfer from N.C. State did not play against Duke or Lafayette.
No. 8
Kentucky
(2-1) returns to action Wednesday at Rupp Arena against Morehead State and will play again on Friday against visiting Long Island.
