His team is in the playoffs and he has been nothing but solid for his team. Now, Pearland linebacker (TX) junior Justin Phillips has made enough plays where even more college coaches have taken notice.
"Justin received a scholarship offer from Northwestern tonight. He talked with the Texas A&M coaches recently and also talked with Texas Tech tonight too," Phillips' father said.
Phillips said he and his 6-foot, 210-pound future Texas Top 100 son was invited to the LSU/Alabama game, but was unable to make it. Aside from the new Big 10 offer, his first was from Oklahoma State.
Kansas State, Georgia, Missouri and Mississippi State are also looking at the Pearland defender. Word is Stanford came down and inquired about a month ago as well.
