Warmack Earns SEC Lineman Of Week
For instance, last Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama throttled previously undefeated Mississippi State, 38-7. Obviously, a number of players had to perform well for Bama to defeat a nationally ranked team by such a decisive margin.
The SEC picked out offensive guard Chance Warmack to honor as SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week. The 6-3, 320-pound senior from Atlanta graded out at 90 per cent with four pancake blocks, no missed assignments, no penalties, no sacks allowed, and no pressures allowed.
The Crimson Tide offense totaled 414 yards (235 passing and 179 rushing) against the Bulldogs.
Alabama's offense had no turnovers against a Mississippi State team that came into the game leading the nation in turnover margin.
Also earning mention was Bama freshman tailback T.J. Yeldon as he rushed for a game-high 84 yards on 10 carries. He also scored a touchdown.
This week Alabama goes to Baton Rouge to take on LSU in a CBS game that will kick off at 7 p.m. CDT. The Fighting Tigers did not have any players mentioned for SEC player of the week honors because LSU had an open date before meeting Alabama.
