Alabama walk-on turned starting H-back Kelly Johnson has been named in a federal lawsuit that accuses him of assaulting a pledge at a fraternity party two years ago.
Johnson and the fraternity of Sigma Chi are the defendants in the personal injury suit, which was filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Birmingham.
The civil suit alleges that fraternity members provided alcohol to underage guests at a “pledge event.”
Neither criminal charges nor a police report has been filed regarding the incident.
Alabama would not comment on the matter and said Johnson would not be available for comment, either.
Johnson has played in all four of the Crimson Tide’s games this season. He’s caught one pass for 16 yards.
