After the most convincing win of the weekend--a 41-14 romp over then-eighth ranked Michigan--Alabama is the new No. 1 team in the country.

After embarrassing then-No. 8 Michigan 41-14 over the weekend at Cowboys Stadium, Alabama has jumped to No. 1 in both the AP and USA TODAY Coaches' polls released Tuesday morning.

Alabama was previously ranked No. 2 in both polls. USC and LSU are ranked Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, with Oregon and Oklahoma rounding out the Top 5.

In the AP Poll, the Crimson Tide received 45 first-place votes, USC had 11 and LSU got four. In the Coaches', Alabama received 37, USC had 14 and LSU got 7.

After the loss, Michigan fell 11 spots to No. 19 in both polls.
