Practice report: 8/23

Eddie Lacy's ankle is still heavily taped, but the running back participated in Thursday's practice.

Thursday afternoon's weather forecast for Alabama practice was north of 90 degrees and sunny skies. Here are some observations from the media's viewing period:

-Nothing new on the Amari Cooper (foot) front as the freshman wide receiver was again wearing a black no-contact jersey while riding the stationary bike.

-Running back Eddie Lacy (sprained ankle, knee) was still taped up, but he participated in a few of the drills, which is progress. He only ran straight, no cutting.

-Nose guard Jesse Williams was again partnered up with freshman defensive lineman Darren Lake. Williams was coaching the youngster in one of the drills.

-Ed Stinson worked alongside Williams and Damion Square as part of the first team defensive line. Stinson has been rotating with Quinton Dial. Jeoffrey Pagan, who has also spent time working with the first team, was in the second group with Dial and Brandon Ivory.

In the video below, watch outside linebackers like Xzavier Dickson, Adrian Hubbard, Dillon Lee, Anthony Orr, Ryan Anderson and Denzel Devall work through drills.
