Despite inclement weather, Alabama was out at Bryant-Denny Stadium in full pads Saturday afternoon for its final scrimmage of the fall. The media was granted about seven minutes to watch. Here are some observations.
-First and foremost, it's important to note that freshman wide receiver Amari Cooper has not been at practice during the media-viewing period for the past two days. Cooper has been a guy Nick Saban has brought up several times as a youngster who has really impressed during the offseason and camp and could make an impact this season. Saban will address the media post-scrimmage and the issue is surely to come up. So stay tuned.
-Saban, who is always working with the defensive backs during practice, was watching the offense today, mainly the receivers.
-Junior safety Jarrick Williams, who had ACL surgery this past week, was on crutches on the sideline. Freshman wide receiver Chris Black, who also had surgery this past week (shoulder), was on the sideline with his arm in a sling.
Below, watch receivers Kenny Bell, Kevin Norwood, Cyrus Jones, DeAndrew White, Nick Williams, Nathan McAlister, Marvin Shinn, Danny Woodson Jr. and Josh Magee workout pre-scrimmage:
