Two Alabama players—senior center Barrett Jones and junior quarterback A.J. McCarron—have been named to the watch list for the Walter Camp Award, given to the nation’s most outstanding player.
Both offensive and defensive players are eligible for the award.
With this nomination, Jones is on four watch lists, including the Outland Trophy (which he won last year), the Rimington and Lombardi. He was also named to the first-team offense for the 2012 pre-season Coaches All-SEC Team, which was announced at the conference media days Thursday.
McCarron, who threw for 2,634 yards and 16 touchdowns in his first year as a starter and was named MVP of the national championship game, has been nominated for the Maxwell, Manning and Davey O’Brien awards.
