Bobby Billingsley visits Alabama
"The trip to Alabama was one of the best I have been on," said Bobby Billingsley. "The coaching staff is real nice. I am developing a good relationship with offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, and coach Groh, my recruiting coach. "When I first got there, after about 15 minutes, they called me back to talk to coach Stoutland. He told me what he looks for in an offensive lineman, and asked what I look for in a school. He talked about the type of offense they run. "They said first of all they want to see me in the spring. If they don't offer me in the spring they want me to come back for camp one day. They said position coaches don't normally offer. I will need to get back up there and talk to coach Saban. I plan on going back there for an unofficial visit." Billingsley talked more about the A-Day game. "The spring game was real nice," he said. "The best group of guys I saw were the offensive line. They are not as big as I thought they were with me being a 6-2 lineman. "Coach Stoutland said he doesn't care about the size. He cares about the talent. I saw how they developed one of my former teammates, Brandon Ivory, into a quicker and stronger player. "That's the best college atmosphere you can be in. Out of all the colleges I have visited they have the best atmosphere. They have a lot of fans. Walking around campus all the fans are telling you to go to Alabama." The prospect from the Volunteer State has high interest in the 2011 BCS National Champions. "I just like everything about them," Billingsley said of Alabama. "I like the winning tradition and how they develop players. Everyone on the coaching staff is all about business. They showed me they are really about business." Billingsley has scholarship offers from Arkansas State, Illinois, Marshall and Memphis. He will visit Mississippi State this weekend. "I don't have a list of favorites right now," he said. "When I name my top five schools I know Alabama, Ole Miss and Mississippi State will be in that group."
