Turnaround Put Tide Up On Tigers

From 1959 through 1971, Auburn's basketball team dominated Alabama. The Tigers won 25 of 29 games in that span. C.M. Newton had taken over as Crimson Tide coach in 1968-69 and going into the 1971-72 season had an 0-6 record against Auburn.

Talk about your turnarounds. Alabama won 18 of the next 19 games against Auburn. Alabama had dominated the early days of the series and had a 20-7 advantage in the series from the first game in 1924 (a 40-19 Bama win) through 1958.
