Strengths/Improvements: "I have good footwork and hands," Tomlinson told Scout.com "I'm also very flexible and have good hips. I'm very aggressive. I'm trying to improve my reactions and quickness. Hitting people is my strength. I love getting after the offense. I still want to improve my footwork, get quicker off the line and improve my strength."
Why Alabama: "I went to the Alabama camp during the summer. They had me working at defensive end. I really liked working out with them. I really enjoyed the way they had us going after it. I like the coaches and the team a lot. I like their facilities. The academics are really good as well. The coaching staff is great. The fans are great. They have a great overall program.

"A lot of good defensive linemen have played at Alabama. I grew up watching Alabama football. I like the way Alabama plays defense. I like the way their defensive linemen stop the run."

Andrew Bone says: "Tomlinson plays with a high motor. He is expected to play defensive end in Alabama's 3-4 defensive scheme. He is an aggressive player who is very strong. He is a great athlete who plays with leverage. He is an active player on the defensive front who does a great job using his speed and quickness to get past offensive linemen. He has very good footwork and technique.

"Tomlinson carries his skills from the wrestling mat to the football field with his agility, quickness and footwork. He has a chance to become a dynamic player on the defensive line for the Tide.
