Richardson Praises LSU Defense After Game

The Crimson Tide rushing attack failed to reach the century mark for the first time this season. LSU held Alabama to a low of 96 yards on 31 attempts. Trent Richardson hammered out 89 yards on 23 carries falling below 100 for only the third time in nine games. He led Alabama last night in all-purpose yardage with 192 – 89 rushing, 80 receiving and 23 on kick-off returns.

Richardson entered the game with 989 yards and eclipsed the 1,000 yard single season rushing total on the first play with an 18-yard scamper around left end. He became only the 11th Alabama player to achieve the milestone. The junior tailback now has 1,078 yards on 172 attempts.
