Visitors in Tuscaloosa

Rod Crayton

The Crimson Tide will open the 2011 season at home against Kent State with an early kick-off Saturday morning. Andrew Bone has the latest on prospects who plan to attend the game.

The University of Alabama football coaching staff is not expecting a big group of prospects for the 11:20 a.m. kickoff, but a few top recruits still plan to visit.

Three commitments in the class of 2012 have confirmed their arrival including Ryan Anderson, three-star defensive end from Daphne, Ala., Darren Lake, three-star defensive tackle from York-Sumter Central and new commitment Darius Philon, three-star defensive end from Prichard-Vigor, Ala.

Several top in-state 2013 recruits are expected including commitments O.J. Howard, tight end from Prattville-Autauga Academy and Bradley Bozeman, offensive tackle from Roanoke-Handley.

Other top in-state recruits include Rod Crayton, defensive tackle from Dadeville, James Cox, wide receiver from Tuscaloosa-Northridge, Jamie Major, linebacker from Piedmont, Cameron Toney, linebacker from Huntsville, and B.J. Hammond, wide receiver from Gadsden City. All five of these players are recruited by the Crimson Tide, but have yet to earn an Alabama offer. All will rank among the top recruits in the state in next year's class.

A couple of in-state sophomores plan to visit including Bo Scarborough, running back from Tuscaloosa-Northridge, and E.J. Moss, quarterback from Ashville. Both have a chance to rank as the No. 1 recruit in their class.
