Elite 2013 RB talks Alabama
"I went to Alabama's camp last Sunday," said Altee Tenpenny. "I got up there that morning. I met with my recruiting coach. He got me ready for the camp. "The camp was a lot of fun. They coached us like we were their own players. It was a real good experience. "I worked out with coach Burns, the running backs coach. He was real cool. He let you know how it is. He is my style of coach. He doesn't sugar-coat anything." Tenpenny received good news from head coach Nick Saban following his camp performance. "The next day I met with coach Saban," he said. "He told me I have an offer to play there. Coach Saban told me what they do, how they work out, how they operate and what they are all about. He said they put academics first. "Coach Saban not only wants to help make you a better football player, but a better person as well. Coach Saban is real cool. He is all about business. He has been to the top when he was in the NFL and now he is back in college. He is a real good coach." A previous trip to Tuscaloosa had Alabama No. 1 on his list. The scholarship offers started to roll in for the elite prospect who now has a lot more options for his college future. "That was my first trip to Alabama," he said. "Their campus is huge. I liked it there. It was real nice. Everyone was friendly and cool. "I like their playing style. They are a pro-style offense. Coach Burns knows what it takes to get the Heisman. The coaches on the staff knows what it takes to win a national championship." Tenpenny had collected offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss and Oklahoma State. Add a new one to the list. "Oklahoma actually offered me today," said Tenpenny. "It's pretty exciting to get these offers. They are great. It gives me extra motivation for playing this season. "I am going to try to get to a bunch of games this fall. I know for sure I want to go to Arkansas, Alabama and Auburn. Florida wants me to come down for a game. The rising junior is likely to receive many more options before signing day in 2013. "All the schools are even right now," Tenpenny said. "I want to go see what everyone is talking about. I want to find the best fit for me." Follow Andrew Bone on TWITTER for the very latest recruiting news.
