2010 stats: Stargel had 87 tackles and two sacks.

Recruitment: Stargel committed to Georgia Tech in early June with other scholarship offers from Memphis, Troy, South Alabama, Louisiana-Lafayette and Arkansas State.

Stargel told GoJackets about his commitment to Georgia Tech, "I am going to a great school that has great academics and plays football in a great conference. I mean I will playing against teams like Miami, Virginia Tech, UNC, and other powers out of conference. It is the best of both worlds. I can't go wrong with this decision."
