Kendall Durant and Jason Carter will not return to the University of Alabama men’s basketball team in the fall, UA head coach Anthony Grant announced Friday.

“After meeting with both Kendall and Jason following the conclusion of our season, we determined that it was in their best interest to continue their athletic and academic careers elsewhere,” Alabama Coach Grant said. “We thank both young men for their contributions to our team. We wish them the best in their futures both on and off the court.”

Kendall Durant, a junior college transfer, played in eight games for the Crimson Tide before missing the remainder of the season with a fracture in his foot. He averaged 2.6 points per game in his limited action.

Jason Carter saw action in 16 games during his freshman season and averaged 1.4 points in 6.0 minutes per game.
