Why Alabama: "I really came down to a last minute decision. The coaching staff at Alabama was phenomenal. It was something I just couldn't pass up on. Coach Pendry and coach Saban you can't say enough about them.
"I had a lot of great schools recruiting me, but in the end it was Alabama. They are a powerhouse, and they have great tradition. There isn't a better place in college football than Alabama. What they have going on is really special. It was the best decision for me and my future.
"I was fortunate to win a few state championships in high school. I am hungry to win a championship again. I know the Alabama coaches have been putting together great recruiting classes to win championships. I feel real comfortable that will happen. They have a lot of guys coming back. The odds are really good for Alabama to win more championships.
"It's going to be pretty crazy for me who grew up a Tennessee fan. I play for the Crimson Tide now. It is what it is. I am going out there to lay it on the line. It's going to be a war. This is SEC football. I am all Alabama now.
"I know several guys on the team like Dont'a Hightower, Barrett Jones and Brian Vogler. I hung out with those guys when I went on my official visit. I actually took Vogler around when he came on his visit to Tennessee. He then was my host at Alabama. That was real cool. We stayed in touch even after he decided to go to Alabama.
"Those players made me feel real comfortable about going to Alabama. They are great guys. I could tell after spending one weekend at Alabama that is where I need to be. It's a great environment."
Strengths/Improvements: "I want to get stronger and bigger. I am 280-pounds right now. I need to be 300 by the time the season rolls around. I want to make sure I am eating right. I know I can play the game of football. I can't wait to learn the offense."
Coach Quotes AWCC Head Coach Tom Minnick): "When I look at Aaron's game the first thing that jumps out at me are his quick feet. That's what the most sought after left tackles have that the others don't. He continued to add weight and get stronger while he was here, and down the road I see him getting even more massive with continued work in the weight room.
"He's a great kid and a leader. He did a fine job helping the young freshmen offensive linemen get better. With the experience he had having played in the SEC, they listened to what he had to tell them.
"I don't get involved with the kids' decisions unless they were placed here. He made the decision by himself. He must have really liked what he heard from Alabama though, because he had the opportunity to go to USC who uses the same playbook he knew from his time at Tennessee."

Andrew Bone says: Douglas will enter spring practice with game experience in the SEC after spending a year at Tennessee. He has excellent size and great feet. He will challenge immediately for the vacated left tackle position. He has a lot of great physical tools, experience and great knowledge of the position.
